Peps

DirX Access differentiates between the following types of PEP:

  • Deployable Web PEPs - PEPs residing in HTTP stacks and specializing in security enabling web applications and resources. PEPs contain deployment setting section and therefore can be deployed via deployment command in DirX Access Console or deployment button in DirX Access Manager.

  • Web PEPs - Plain Web PEPs residing in HTTP stacks and specializing in security enabling web applications and resources. Plain Web PEPs are assignable configuration holders for web application endpoint configurations (e.g., OAuth endpoints, SAML endpoint and Authentication application configuration).

  • Cloud PEPs - PEPs residing in Cloud Foundry HTTP stacks and specializing in security enabling Cloud Foundry web applications and resources

  • Other PEPs - Base PEPs with basic configuration options. These PEPs can’t be used to protect web applications. These PEPs can’t be assigned to web application endpoint configurations. PEPs are used mainly for internal purposes or in callouts.

  • The Policy enforcement points selection in the main navigation bar allows you to configure settings that apply to these types of PEP. The selection presents Deployable Web, Web, Cloud, and Other pages for configuring the respective PEP types. Only DirX Access Administrators are allowed to access these pages.
